With the formation of Kraft Opich, LLP, in 2008, attorneys Douglas H. Kraft and Martha Evensen Opich continued an association that began in 2003 when Marty became counsel to Douglas Kraft & Associates, a Sacramento law firm founded by Doug in 1999 that focuses on the banking industry.
Doug and Marty represent and counsel lenders in commercial law and real estate loan transactions and litigation, including bankruptcy proceedings. All matters undertaken by the firm are handled by Doug or Marty personally, or by experienced attorneys working under their supervision.
The firm also enforces creditors’ rights in state court and bankruptcy court and is experienced at obtaining prejudgment writs of attachment, writs of possession and temporary restraining orders to protect and prohibit transfers of assets, and the prosecution of fraudulent conveyance actions.
Areas of expertise include representing banks and other lenders in complex commercial law and real estate loan transactions and litigation, prosecution of non-judicial and judicial foreclosures, negotiation and documentation of loan restructures and complex loan workouts, and handling cases that involve negotiable instruments and deposit account issues.
